A Minecraft Cake

I recently purchased Minecraft using more of the store credit I accumulated via Xbox trade-in. I only got to play for a few hours since this week has been a tad busy, but I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to play again… maybe I’ll play for a while today before going to work.

I bought Minecraft Wednesday morning and played it for a good portion of the day, but I have to work on Thursdays and traffic is the drive is much longer now since they’ve closed a section of road for construction (the section that takes me right to my “shortcut” to work) and the detours are very out of the way. Anyway, I had to get some sleep and I was all kinds of thrilled about playing again when I got home Thursday… which didn’t happen because I ended up working until 9:15.

Don’t get me wrong, if I could work 13-hour days every day, I would totally do it because I love my job. It would cut into my gaming time though, so we’ll keep the long days to a “It’s fine here and there” status. That was my Thursday night. My Friday night was consumed with baking… or rather fondant.

Moar Lumosity And A Big Trade

So I’m jumping back onto the Lumosity horse, officially. I’ve been very sporadic in my training the last few days weeks months and would like to change that. Here are my scores as of today with my off and on training. I’m not doing to bad, in fact I’ve improved significantly in Flexibility (from 41.3th to 64.6th Percentile). Other areas I have gone backwards in ::cough:: Problem Solving ::cough::

Wow is still a very very very casual fling for me. My good friend Amanda bought me 3 months of game time and had she not, I would not be playing at all. She’s just a rock star like that! Thanks Amanda :D All I really do is talk to her and take pictures. I’ve just learned how to take panoramic screenshots and have been toying with them verrrry casually. I’m not quite ready to share those with the world yet, but they should be pretty cool. It’s amazing how much more you can get in a shot when it’s panoramic.

How Things Have Been Changing… For The Better

Wow, no posts since February. Probably not the best start for my new blog. Things just started to get crazy though and I found myself, again, lacking in motivation to do anything.

I have been playing WoW again though, casually. I’m in a little raiding guild just as a social member at the moment since my schedule would not permit me to raid at normal hours. I was working overnights (8:30pm-5am) which meant my whole schedule was flip-flopped. For a while, I was honestly considering moving to an Oceanic server to try and raid, but I’m glad I didn’t. You see, my schedule has changed… for the better.

Slender: The Eight Pages

First of all, I’m not an easily-scared guy. My roommate is going to be doing a lot more out-of-town traveling for her job so the house will be empty more often. I’m not afraid of being alone in this big ol’ house because 1) We’re in a cul-de-sac (I just learned how to spell this word) which are typically safer, so I’ve heard, and 2) It’s highly unlikely that a monster should just happen upon our residence with the intent of horribly maiming me.

That being said, I am a total baby when it comes to horror stuff. Movies, shows, haunted houses, games. I can’t do it. They’re just too much and actually enjoy non-nightmare-infested sleep cycles. Fictitious stuff terrifies me in a way that nothing real ever could and I’ve seen those man-eating spiders from Australia.

I want to change this. I went ahead and downloaded Slender: The Eight Pages and played a few minutes seconds of it before I went all /nopenopenope. I didn’t get caught, I just got bored waiting to die. I grabbed the first note in the bathroom-looking area, the thundering footsteps started, and I just turned off my flashlight and started at the door waiting for slendy to come and kill me (or whatever he does). He never came, so I just quit and sat in my chair for a few minutes with my legs folded under my bum and snuggled in my blanket.

I am going to attempt to get through the game though… or at least another note. I’ll just have to do it during the day, while my roommate is home, with all the lights on and the sound off. Maybe, just maybe, then I won’t get so scared.

Depending on whether or not how many times I pee my pants, I might get the next installment, Slender: The Arrival which looks WAY more terrifying. I only saw the trailer and already I was in /nopenopenope mode.

When I do finally work up the courage to play The Eight Pages, I will have to record my sessions so you guys can see how much of a baby I really am.

Lumosity

Today I signed up for Lumosity.com. I went ahead and bought the one year subscription since they offered me a good deal. So instead of paying $15.00/month ($180.00 /year) I only paid $45.00 for the year. Yay promotions!

My Brain Profile Overview:

  • Speed – 498
  • Memory – 725
  • Attention – 529
  • Flexibility – 604
  • Problem Solving – 348

Which averages out to 540, which is my BPI or Brain Performance Index. Is that good or bad? I don’t know so let’s look at where I stand with other in my age group, 20-24. Keep in mind, this is my first day doing this and the numbers are based off everyone within this age group, not just those who are starting.

  • BPI – 8.4th Percentile
  • Speed – 7th Percentile
  • Memory – 14.3th Percentile
  • Attention – 11.5th Percentile
  • Flexibility – 17.5th Percentile
  • Problem Solving – 8.2th Percentile

As you can see, I’m pretty much a dumbass. I can improve though, or so Lumosity tells me.

I’ll be posting my progress weekly (every Sunday) on the new Lumosity page so you can cheer me on when I improve or tear me down when I decline. Your choice.

The Witcher 1 & 2

EDIT- The Witcher 1 will not be streamed/recorded this weekend.

When I woke up yesterday and checked my phone, I saw that I had a few emails come in. There were a few new Twitter followers, something from a watch company and another from Steam with my favorite subject line “A game on your wishlist is on sale!” Oh boy, The Witcher! Five dollars you say? I’ll take it. What? The Witcher 2 is also on sale? Ten dollars? Yes please! So I managed to snag two games for fifteen bucks. Score!

So what will my weekend consist of? Laundry and The Wicher!! I’m not entirely sure how much of it I will get through in one weekend. New games can be really black or white for me. I either blow through it in a weekend (Assassin’s Creed: Revelations) or it takes me over a month to get through it (Star Wars: Kotor 1 & 2). I’ll try not to rush through the game though.

I’m not quite certain which medium I’ll use to share my experience. I’m torn between just recording my play and uploading it to my YouTube channel or just streaming it on my Twitch.tv channel. What do you think?
